That’s a Relief! – SEBS Helps Out with Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

After Dean Schollenberger’s email regarding the call to action for Hurricane Sandy relief, SEBS sprung into action and took on some volunteering.

On Saturday, November 17, a group of dedicated SEBS members, led by one of our new OCMs Christa Shen, went down to Staten Island where we volunteered with the Food Bank for New York. We helped with distribution of food and supplies, as well as unloading materials and participating in clean-up projects.

Especially because Morningside Heights was fortunate enough to be nearly unaffected by Sandy, SEBS wanted to reach out to our immediate NYC community, especially in lower Manhattan as well as the other boroughs and contribute our efforts there.

We hope to volunteer more in the future, in line with our organization’s name and mission!
